Dental emergencies can be scary, especially when it's happening to your child! But having a dental team you can count on and knowing what to do during a dental emergency can help you remain calm and get your child the treatment and relief they need.

Dr. Jonathan Sierk is the emergency dentist in Highland's Ranch and Castle Pines that parents rely on for their kids. You can reach our team 24/7 at (303) 865-4066 if your family is experiencing a dental emergency. Here are three tips for handling dental emergencies for children.

#1 A Knocked-Out Tooth

If your child knocks out a permanent or adult tooth, it's essential to treat it immediately. Dr. Sierk has the best chance of preserving your child's tooth if he can treat it within one hour of the injury. Place the tooth back into the socket if possible. If not, use milk or saliva to transport the tooth to your emergency dentist as soon as possible.

Contact your dental team for instructions if it's a primary or baby tooth. Your child may or may not need immediate attention.

#2 A Painful Toothache

When your little one is in pain, you want to help them find relief fast! Contact your children's dentist right away for an examination. Tooth pain often indicates an infection or tooth decay, which could be caused by food particles or an object left in the mouth. Our team will get down to the root of the problem and determine the treatment your child needs.

#3 A Broken or Chipped Tooth

A broken or chipped tooth can be uncomfortable for your child. A jagged edge can irritate their cheeks or soft tissues. Contact our dental team at (303) 865-4066 to determine if they need immediate treatment.

Don't wait to contact Jonathan Sierk, Children's Dentistry, if your little one has a dental emergency. We're here for you when you need us most!
