General Anesthesia

We understand that having a child under sedation for a procedure can make any parent feel anxious. At Sierk Children's Dentistry, your child is in the most capable hands, as we work with highly trained pediatric anesthesiologists to safely administer anesthesia.

Dr. Jon and our dental team have extensive experience in treating children in a safe, calm environment where they feel comfortable and cared for. General anesthesia is a safe and modern method of keeping children comfortable.

Zirconia Crowns

Our pediatric zirconia (tooth-colored) crowns are durable and attractive, giving your child a strong and beautiful smile. Zirconia crowns look, feel, and function much like natural teeth, and we use them to protect teeth weakened by decay, multiple fillings, or pulpal therapy.

Panoramic X-Rays

Our panoramic x-rays comfortably create images of your child’s developing mouth. With panoramic x-rays, we can see your child’s teeth, jaws, underlying structures, and sinuses so we can check for:

  • Bone development
  • Fractures
  • Impacted teeth
  • Cysts
  • Infections

Panoramic dental x-rays also help us plan for certain treatments, like braces.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide, also known as "laughing gas," is a completely safe and effective technique for calming nervous patients and relieving pain and discomfort.

With our "laughing gas," patients remain awake, but are more relaxed and at ease during their appointment. Nitrous oxide is delivered through a comfortable and flexible face mask that gently provides a combination of oxygen and nitrous oxide. Each time a patient is under sedation of any kind, we monitor them to make sure they are safe and comfortable during their visit.

TVs & Headphones

Sierk Children's Dentistry is a pediatric dental office unlike any other. We truly care for and cater to the unique needs of every single patient. It's always our goal to make sure our team is welcoming, kind, and engaging and that our office is fun, relaxing, and inviting.

To keep our patients entertained and relaxed, we offer headphones and have TVs in each of our treatment areas. We are happy to turn on the TV so they can enjoy their time in the dental chair while we work on their beautiful smiles. Our headphones also allow our young patients to listen to music or even block out noise during their appointment, so they can enjoy a more tranquil experience.

Digital Records

Sierk Children's Dentistry is happy to use secure digital records to improve the care we deliver to our young patients and their families. Digital dental records allow us to stay up-to-date on all of your child's dental needs and keep open and transparent communication with parents. Digital record-keeping also helps us manage and share important dental health information with other specialists and insurance providers when needed. Your family's privacy and safety are of the utmost importance to our team at Sierk Children's Dentistry, and you can rest assured knowing your child's dental records are protected and confidential.

Digital X-Rays

According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), digital x-rays are safe and approved for diagnosing children and teenagers. Digital x-rays don’t require chemicals for development, so they are available immediately, and they are comfortable for even our littlest patients.

Our modern digital dental x-rays have several benefits for our young patients:

  • Digital x-rays are safer and discharge significantly less radiation, than traditional film x-rays.
  • Digital x-rays are quick and easy, and they take no time to develop.
  • Digital x-rays are more precise and accurate, contributing to faster diagnosis and treatment.
  • Digital x-rays are safely stored in your digital records, and we can send them to your insurance company or specialists when needed.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Tooth-colored fillings—also called composite resin fillings—match the shade and physical appearance of children's natural teeth. Our tooth-colored fillings are gently bonded to teeth affected by decay, keeping teeth strong and functional.

With our durable, tooth-colored fillings, your child can eat, talk, laugh, smile, and play without metal fillings.

Intraoral Camera

We use intraoral cameras to give parents, children, and our dental team the same view the dentist sees when performing an exam. Our cameras are slender, easy-to-handle wands that we use to quickly and accurately capture digital images of your child's teeth and gums that we then display on their chairside monitor.

You and the dentist can view the images together in one of our private treatment rooms and refer to them as we discuss your child's treatment needs in detail.
