If your child has a dental emergency, it is important you contact us right away. At Sierk Children’s Dentistry, we deliver our services when you need them the most. Whether you are an existing patient or a new patient, don’t hesitate to contact us right away.
What is a Dental Emergency?
Dental emergencies are any situation that requires prompt care to alleviate oral pain and prevent damage that may lead to tooth loss. Urgent dental care may include toothaches, failed restorations, or knocked out teeth.
Even baby teeth are important to preserve. Primary teeth are placeholders for permanent ones, so prematurely losing baby teeth can influence how adult ones mature.
Contact us immediately if your child is experiencing:
- Severe toothache
- Broken, chipped, or fractured teeth
- Swelling in the cheek
- Damaged or dislodged fillings or crowns
- Gum abscesses
Emergency Special Needs Dental Care
Sierk Children’s Dentistry is equipped to treat special needs patients on an emergency basis. We will do everything we can to accommodate special needs patients, alleviate their pain, and return them to optimal oral health while maintaining a calm and soothing environment.
Stay Prepared for Dental Emergencies
The first step in any dental emergency is to contact Sierk Children’s Dentistry right away. If you are experiencing pain from a lost tooth, there are certain steps you can take while you are waiting.
If a tooth has fallen out due to trauma, attempt to place it back in the socket until you can get to the dentist, if possible. If not possible, put it in a sealed container with either milk or in a save-a-tooth kit to preserve it.
